This land given to us, a time now ancient, not to rule, not to own, but to nurture, love and on it grow. Yet, we have wavered as greed took its hold.
The stars in the sky shone brightly once, each a sign of hope, a medium for our wishes to travel by. Now, the stars we have looked upon have vanished. Blocked by the sea of artificial lights, they have drowned, never to re-surface. Our wishes making their way through the vast sky in star-drawn carriages are rained upon by the arrows of reality and plummet towards earth.
The land presented to us at the beginning of time was one full of mystery, beauty and allure. But, this was not to hold as the heart of man is undoubtedly cold. Oaks, spruce, and pines that inhabited this earth for a huge time span, have been beheaded as though convicted for crimes against man. Wonders have been dissected, examined and recorded, turning our world from one to live in into one to learn about.
Man, no two the same, only possess one thing in common: each to his name, a lifetime on this plane. Thoughts of man, far ranging, seldom concur and yet there are absolute views by which all are forced to adhere. Dominance by others is a façade for those too weak to be held accountable to their own souls. For, life in all its unfairness left a perk for the living. The ability to make one’s own choices we have thanks to its giving.
Till the world of old be re-created, I shall live in this world greatly overrated dreaming the dream I have always dreamt. When the Day of Judgment comes, I may be either raised to the realm of hopes and wishes or dragged down to the depths of misery and suffering. Even then, I shall continue to look at my mortal residence, be it from the pearly gates of the holy palace or the gate of skulls of the eternal fires of damnation, in hope of witnessing the fulfillment of a dream, a dream that gave my life its meaning.
